I guess we'll see with OS 3.10.0 (I doubt they'll call it 4. I'm currently running 5., but I don't want to upgrade to anything past version 5.5 because it apparently removes ASM support for some reason. Re: Nspire OS 3.9.1 can now be downgraded (already) :D By: DJ Omnimaga Date: December 30, 2014, 11:52:25 PM It's possible as well, although TI is normally quick on the lockdown trigger. I've recently been messing with programs and such on my TI-84 Plus CE (just simple games and such), and I want to update my OS because I've been having problems. They probably just had to adapt some things in the downgrade utility to make it compatible (ie, code offsets and such). It just means that the exploit was completely unknown when the OS was built so chances that TI fixed it in there are small. Maybe TI-Planet just found a new exploit that TI just can't figure out? Nope. Critor tried to trigger it in various ways, to no avail. Suck it, TI Re: Nspire OS 3.9.1 can now be downgraded (already) :D By: Eiyeron Date: December 30, 2014, 12:56:53 PM What about the self destruction sequence? Is there any news about such a routine? Re: Nspire OS 3.9.1 can now be downgraded (already) :D By: aeTIos Date: December 30, 2014, 09:15:19 AM That's really quick. Maybe TI-Planet just found a new exploit that TI just can't figure out? Also being able to downgrade this easily means that the team doesn't need to invest as much time into Ndless 3.9 or 3.9.1, as people can simply downgrade to 3.1 or 3.6 if they want to use it. But yeah, basically if you were stuck on OS 3.9.1 (which isn't even available on TI servers yet, but is starting to appear on new calcs), then you can now go back to 3.6 and use Ndless! You can download the utility here: DowngradeFix 3.9 And read the tutorial here: Re: Nspire OS 3.9.1 can now be downgraded (already) :D By: Streetwalrus Date: December 29, 2014, 09:19:09 PM Well the os was built a while ago, long before ti planet released the downgrade utility. However, no CAS nor Clickpad/Touchpad support yet: Just regular TI-Nspire CX. I suspect there wasn't much changes in the OS or TI didn't try much harder to find a new way to block downgrades. a 1.Nspire OS 3.9.1 can now be downgraded (already) :D By: DJ Omnimaga Date: December 28, 2014, 12:14:26 PM See original post on TI-Planet: Looks like this one downgrade didn't took as long to come out.NCleaner looks for unnecessary resources in the file system, and tells you in each case how much free space their removal is going to bring. Thanks to the release of Ndless 3.6 last weekend, it is now possible to use the nCleaner utility on OS 3.6. Which brings us to another method of optimizing space since we can not alter the OS installation file anymore: cut in the extracted resources! ) Indeed, it turns out that during installation of the OS, some of the resources contained in "/phoenix/install/TI-Nspire.tnc" are extracted to the file system. However, if you subtract the OS installation file size to it, you will notice that you don't get that much free space after installing the OS an empty calculator at all. The capacity of the TI-Nspire file system is: If any item is missing or corrupted, the OS starts the uninstall process immediately. The installation file now includes a complete list of resources that it is supposed to include, and the OS will check that list once installed and launched. ![]() Alas, with OS 3.6 for TI- Nspire, Texas Instruments decided to put an end to this practice.
